Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores Improvement Association History:

The Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores Improvement Association (PLSIA) is an organization which was formed in 1951 by the property owners in Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores and the developers of the plat.  The purpose of PLSIA is to promote safety and cleanliness; maintain and generally improve the properties and support civic endeavors which pertain to the Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores neighborhood.  PLSIA pays the taxes and insurance and has been responsible for maintenance of the clubhouse, the beach, the parking lot and the grass area for over 60 years.

PLSIA Membership Benefits:

We are a growing community. Living in Narragansett allows families to enjoy the water at a close-to-home location. Having a private beach and boat ramp in your own neighborhood has its advantages; coming home after work and walking to the water to cool off; not having to leave the neighborhood for boat access to Narragansett Bay;  being able to close your eyes and hear your children playing in the sand and wave-free surf are only a few reasons to maintain and preserve your beach.

With membership support, we can keep the beach private for the Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores property owners and residents.  The Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores beach and boat access and the clubhouse depend on the membership support of this neighborhood financially.  The approximate annual cost for this upkeep is $12,000.00.

The membership support maintains the properties, and membership dues make up most of the annual budget.  The neighborhood has over 360 homes.  The beach, boat ramp and the clubhouse are private.  The ingress and egress access is deeded to property owners in Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores. PLSIA pays the insurance, maintenance and taxes of both pieces of property (beach lots and clubhouse lots).

Please join the PLSIA  and enjoy the many activities, gatherings, beach and other neighborhood-friendly fun.
